Frequently asked questions

Find quick answers about using a daily BHA cleanser on sensitive or acne-prone skin.
Will it dry my skin out?
It's built not to. The formula removes excess oil rather than all of it, and glycerin, aloe and allantoin keep skin hydrated through the wash. If your skin does feel tight, you're likely using it too often too soon - go back to once a night for a week.
Why only 0.5% salicylic acid - isn't 2% stronger?
Stronger, yes; better in a cleanser, no. A wash sits on your face for about 30 seconds before it goes down the drain, so the extra concentration buys little except irritation - tightness, flaking, and skin that makes more oil to defend itself. 0.5% is the dose you can use every day without breaking the barrier.
Will it make me break out at first?
Some people see more congestion surfacing in the first week or two as blocked pores clear faster than usual, then it settles. That's different from irritation - if skin is stinging, red or flaking, reduce to every other night.
Can I use it with retinol, adapalene or other acids?
Yes - it fits into most routines. If you're combining actives on sensitive skin, introduce them one at a time and watch how your skin responds. Don't over-exfoliate, and wear sunscreen during the day.
Does it contain sulfates or parabens?
No. It's formulated without parabens, artificial fragrance, artificial colourants, essential oils, SLS, SLES, liquid paraffin, paraffin oil, BPA, phthalates, resorcinol and formaldehyde.
Is it safe during pregnancy?
Check with your doctor before using any salicylic acid product while pregnant or breastfeeding.
How long does it last?
Three years from the production date, and best used within six months of opening.
